DIFFERENT TYPES OF MASSAGE...

With so many different types of massage to choose from, it makes it quite difficult to decide which one to try and which one you would benefit from the most.

Records dating back as far as 2,700BC show that ancient Eastern Chinese Cultures practised massage to heal a number of ailments. Egyptian tombs have also been discovered to have images of figures being massaged. It is also well known that Julius Caesar underwent daily massages to treat nerve pain.

Swedish Massage – this massage uses long smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements in superficial layers of muscle using massage lotion or oil.

Aromatherapy Massage – this massage uses one or more scented oils which are selected to suit different types of ailments and for relaxation, energizing and stress.

Hot Stone Massage – this is done by using heated smooth stones that are placed on certain points on the body to warm and loosen tight muscles and balance energy levels in the body.

Shiatsu Massage – this is a type of Japanese bodywork that uses localised finger pressure in a rhythmic sequence on your acupuncture meridians. Each point is held for 2 – 8 seconds to improve the flow of energy and to help the body regain balance.

Thai Massage – this is similar to Shiatsu in that it aligns the energies of the body by using gentle pressure and stretches on specific points.

Reflexology Massage – this type of massage is done on the foot where pressure is put to certain points on the foot that correspond to organs and systems in your body.

Sports Massage –  is specifically designed for people who are involved in physical activity.

BOTOX PROS AND CONS...

I'm sure we will all thought about having botox done on our face at some time in our lives but do you really know the pros and cons of this type of treatment.

According to SkincareHelp botox can help you look younger by relaxing the muscles in certain areas of the face that can contribute to wrinkles and lines.

The pros being that it is said to have low risk or side effects and produces results on average for around three to six months. You can immediately go back to work after the procedure and probably only need one or two touch-ups per year.

There are two primary cons one which is that you are at risk of an allergic reaction and also that there is a potential for things like bruising, swelling and facial muscles becoming overly relaxed and causing problems like droopy eyelids or drooling.
