CHARITY NIGHT FRIDAY 17TH MARCH for HUNTINGDON DISEASE...

We are holding a CHARITY NIGHT Friday 17th March, 6 - 9pm in aid of Huntingdon Disease. 

Sufferer Sharon Cook (see link at end of post) is running the London Marathon to help fund research and raise awareness of this disease. Treatments for just £5 (which goes directly to charity) include nail files and paint, spray tans, wash and blow dry, hair up, hair curled, eye tint and wax. Plus there will also be some stall holders and a raffle. Details of these will be posted here soon so keep checking our facebook page.

Huntington’s disease, which is often called HD, is an hereditary disorder of the central nervous system.

It used to be known as Huntington’s Chorea or HC.

Huntington’s disease usually develops in adulthood and can cause a very wide range of symptoms.

On Friday 15th April we are having another Charity Night. This time it's to help a young girl called Mollie who is bravely doing the world challenge and needs to raise £3,600 to be able to take part in it.

It will be the same format as usual with eye-brow, wax and tint, file and paints, spray tan, blow dry, hair up all for only £5 each.

The usual amazing stall holders with Pimms on arrival, wine and nibbles, soft drinks, teas and coffees.

ALL monies raised will be going direct to the Charity .

ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL CHARITY NIGHT AT THE HAIR & BEAUTY LOUNGE...

The Hair & Beauty Lounge held another successful Charity Night tonight for 'St. John's Ambulance' with all funds raised used locally to provide free training sessions to the community in the first aid, cpr and hopefully paediatric FA.

Stall holders included Mary & Martha from Shirebrook, gorgeous homemade cakes and preserves from Becky, Party Lite Candles, Ice Jewellery Weleda Skin care.  We also had treatments, all for £5 each including wash and blow dry, hair up, eyebrow tint and wax, spray tans, file and paint either fingers or toes, as well as a Tombola with a great array of gifts.

Tea, coffee, wine, soft drinks and nibbles were all complements of the salon and there was also a First Aid Demonstration by St. John's Ambulance.

MORE DETAILS ON THE CHARITY NIGHT FOR 'ST. JOHNS AMBULANCE' ON 11th SEPTEMBER...

Our next Charity Night on September 11th is for 'St. John's Ambulance' with all funds raised used locally to provide free training sessions to the community in the first aid, cpr and hopefully paediatric FA.

There will be the usual stalls like our last Charity Night, including home made cakes/ jams and jewellery/ handbags and homemade soft furnishings and shabby chic items from Mary and Martha.

Treatments which are all for £5 each include wash and blow dry, hair up, eyebrow tint and wax, spray tans, file and paint either fingers or toes.

All treatments are on a first come first served basis and all the proceeds from these will be going to St. John's Charity.

Tea, coffee, wine, soft drinks and nibbles are all complements of the salon and there will also be a First Aid Demonstration .

There will also be a raffle with great prizes so make sure you have this very special date in your dairy. We will look forward to seeing you on the 11th.

 

 

 

HAIRSTYLE APPRECIATION DAY 2015 30th APRIL...

Hairstyle Appreciation Day is on 30th April, 2015 .....

It celebrates the uniqueness of all styles of hair and honors the people who make artful hairstyles possible. Hairstyling is an artful skill, on April 30th you can show your favorite hairstylist your appreciation.

It is celebrated annually on April 30th in appreciation of hairstylists everywhere for their special skills along with their kindness, lending ear, moral boosting, confidence building and self-esteem building talents.

MORE DETAILS ON OUR CHARITY NIGHT, 17th APRIL, FOR THE STROKE ASSOCIATION...

As previously posted we are holding a Charity Night on Friday 17th April, which is for the Stroke Association

I'm sure we all know someone who has been through the trauma of a stroke as anyone can have a stroke even children and younger people.

Our Charity Night is to help raise funds towards sponsorship for Sam Johnson and Oliver Collingham who are the team who are going on the Mongo Rally Challenge which takes place on 19th July 2015.

It is classed as the greatest motoring adventure on the planet.... from here to Ulaabaatar in Mongolia. The Mongo Rally covers 15,000 miles across the mountains, desert and steppe of Europe and Asia. It's not what you might call for the faint hearted, but more for those with a strong will, sense of adventure and importantly for a worthy cause.

In order to take part they have to raise a minimum of £1000 for charity (£500 goes to the rally's official charity Cool Earth) and the rest to the Stroke Association.  Other costs that will need to be self-funded are for visa's, accommodation, food and drink, travel insurance, spares and repairs, immunisations, ferries and flights which they think will run up to around £2500 each. So dig deep for this worthy team and help Oliver and Sam raise enough funds to go on the Mongo Rally.
