SOME BEAUTY TIPS...

Use lighter movements to stimulate the lymphatic system or go deeper into the muscles to help relieve stress.

For puffy eyes, keep eye gel in the fridge as this will help to constrict the capillaries and help with dark circles.

If you wear glasses go easy on the eye shadow as it should not be competing with the colour of your frames. Never match it, if you want to wear the same colour go one shade lighter.

GOING GREY DOES NOT MEAN GROWING OLD…

Celebrities like Judy Dench, Dame Helen Mirren and many others have brought the grey hair back into fashion. But not just for the oldies as even celebs like Rihanna has faked it by using a shampoo and conditioner called ‘White Hot Shampoo and Conditioner’, which leaves greys super-soft and sleek.

They say that White Hot Hair shampoo ‘contains a small amount of optical brightener and a touch of violet pigment which neutralises yellowy or brassy tones in white and grey hair. It also works on natural and bleached blonde hair’.

White Hot Hair also say that they ‘recommend you use Brilliant Shampoo once or twice a week or when your hair looks in need of a brightening boost. We suggest you don’t use it every day or leave it on your hair for more than 5 minutes, but simply wash it in and out as you would with any shampoo. If you overdo it, you could see a ‘bluey tint’ that will fade once you go back to Glorious Shampoo which is designed to super-cleanse white and grey hair without the additional brightening boost’.

WHAT IS A MICRODERMABRATION TREATMENT…?

The microdermabrasion facial has come into the UK but started in Hollywood. It’s what they like to call an ‘instant facelift’, which is obviously a lot less money and a far more invasive treatment than plastic surgery.

Basically the treatment involves the application of tiny rough grains which help to exfoliate away the surface layer of your skin. The idea is that the back and forth motion they use for this treatment removes the top layer (the stratum comeum). This then makes the skin thinks that an injury has occurred and rushes to replace the lost skin cells with new and healthy ones.

Once the skin heals it brings with it newer skin cells which look and feel smoother and any skin imperfections like sun damage, blemishes and fine lines are removed, leaving you with a fresh, clean, bright and new complexion.

They say that having a microdermabration treatment every four to six weeks will keep your skin looking radiant and bright all year round.

WHAT ARE SEMI PERMANENT EYELASH EXTENSIONS...

Semi Permanent Eyelash Extensions are becoming very popular now especially with top celebrities like Jenifer Lopez, Paris Hilton, Cheryl Cole, Beyonce, and Madonna.

It is a revolutionary way to extend the thickness, length and curl of your lashes.

The extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate and feel like human lashes. They are applied to your own individual eyelashes, one lash at a time, with strong lash glue. The bond is designed to last until the natural lash has finished its cycle and both the natural lash and the extension will fall out together.

They can last up to 3 months with regular 2/3 week infill's.

They are very versatile so you can go swimming, go to the gym, sauna or other activities and they will be absolutely fine.

SOME TOP TIPS ON HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR HAIR THIS AUTUMN...

The cold weather can play havoc with your locks but if you look after it, it will shine like it does all summer.

Start applying an intense moisturising mask every week or so, and try and leave it on for about 10 minutes or overnight if you can before washing it off.

Invest in a good moisturising shampoo and conditioner to add more moisture to the hair from our range of TIGI products.

Have regular trims with us as the most effective way to keep your hair healthy is to get rid of dry and split ends.

BEAUTY SECRETS FOR OLDER WOMEN...

Beauty Secrets for Older Women: How to Look Young and Stay Beautiful by Katherine Rose

This is a brilliant book for the older woman, although I'm not sure at what age they think you are old as it shows that if your 40, 50, 60,or older, you can still look and feel absolutely fanstastic and shine from the inside out.

The book explains about how to choose make up and anti-aging products, which I'm sure lots of women over 40 are looking for. It also covers fashion, drinks and the right type of food to eat to look young.

If you are feeling a bit low then the inspirational chapters on how to feel your best are sure to pick you up.

Overall a brilliant book with lots of tips on how to keep us oldies looking that little bit younger.

It would make a great Christmas ( I know the 'C' word) present for someone who would not take offence on being offered tips on how to look young and stay beautiful.

TOP TIPS ON HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR SKIN THIS AUTUMN...

As Autumn begins to arrive after a long hot summer, and our skins have enjoyed some serious sun during the summer, the chances are it now needs a bit of a moisturising boost to get it back to its usual self.

The cooler the autumn means that your skin needs greater protection. Knowing your skin type is an essential part of getting your skin in tip top condition. Even oily skin types might need a richer lotion to stop their skin from drying out.

Don't get rid of your sun creams just yet as the sun rays can still cause damage to your skin even in the Autumn sun.

Exfoliate more often and get into a good routine of regularly applying a moisturiser.

Choose a gentle cleanser and rejuvenate your skin with a serum, and don't forget to look after your lips which can become chapped and dry in the Autumn.

Remember to get some extra Vitamin C which they now say works as an antioxidant, and slows the rate of free-radical damage which causes skin dryness, fine lines and wrinkles.
