#BEAUTY IS BORING - ONE OF THE BEST BEAUTY VIDEO DIARIES...

I found the blog 'Beauty is Boring' on Stylecaster's top 50 beauty blog list and I can tell you now it is far from boring.

It comes from makeup artist and photographer Robin Black.

Robin decided to create a photo and video dairy on the stop she has such a love/hate relationship with 'Beauty'. On her blog you will find photographs and tutorials a plenty where Robin takes photographs of anything she finds intriguing with a vintage Polaroid camera.

I can promise you at least couple of hours browsing when you pop over to her site. 

#FIVE TIPS ON WHAT PRODUCTS TO APPLY TO YOUR HAIR...

1. Start with freshly cleansed, out-of-the-shower hair that's been towel-dried.

2. Apply blow-dry cream or straightening cream. For short to medium length hair, apply a quarter sized amount and for longer hair double the dose, then comb through with your hands, starting from the back of the head to the front, ensuring all strands get coated. 

3.If you want volume then add a marshmallow-sized amount of mousse into your hand and rub between your hands to liquefy, massaging into your roots and down using your fingertips. 

4. If you use a salt or sugar spray to add texture then wait until your hair is dry before applying it. For added shine you can apply a tiny amount of dry oil to the ends.

5. Finally finish with gel or pomade to tame flyaways and hairspray to set the look.

A great tip for healthier hair is to avoid washing it in hot water as this dries hair out. Instead wash in lukewarm water and blast with cold water at the end to help seal the cuticles for better shine.

I just love vintage beauty ads and these two 1960's Maybelline Adverts are brilliant. 

 

The first one is for the  'New Automatic Magic Mascara', which is REALLY waterproof without any sting or smart and separates and curls lashes in a new gentler way. It comes in for colours, velvet black, sable brown, midnight blue and jade green !!!!!!!!!

 

 

 

 

The next one is for their Ultra brow, which is just like the ones on the market nowadays and comes complete with contour brush in the lovely ivory with golden rose case.

Supermodel Tips by Carly Hobbs came out in August but I have only just had chance to read and review this book. Although I'm not a big fan of these type of books the fact that Carly had managed to get so many tips from top models prompted me to buy it.
